Metal plastic forming The process of making use of the plastic properties of metal materials to give them the desired shape. After the metal material is formed, its structure and properties are improved and enhanced. Where the action of alternating loads or stress conditions of the components, generally through the plastic forming process, in order to meet the requirements of use. Plastic forming is a chipless forming method, so that the workpiece can obtain a good flow line shape and reasonable material utilization. The plastic forming method can make the workpiece size reach a high precision and has a high production efficiency.
Plastic forming is divided into cold forming, warm forming and hot forming. The influence of temperature on the properties of materials should be considered in warm forming, and the creep effect of materials should also be considered in hot forming. Metal plastic forming includes block forming, sheet forming and rolling (see plastic mechanics). All kinds of plastic forming are based on the premise that metal materials have plastic properties, all need external force, all have the influence of external friction, and all follow the common laws of metal and plastic mechanics.
The method of applying the principle of plastic mechanics to study the law of metal forming is called plastic analysis of metal forming, and its task is as follows: ① study the various solutions of mechanics in the process of plastic forming to analyze the stress and strain distribution law in the deformation body, and determine the deformation force and deformation work in order to reasonably select the equipment tonnage and mold strength. ② Study the variation law of strain and size of component during plastic forming, select appropriate billet and reasonable shape of intermediate blank in order to optimally achieve the required shape of component. ③ The influence of processing conditions such as temperature and strain rate effect on metal plastic processing resistance and measures to improve metal toughness and reduce resistance are studied in order to obtain components with good performance. The plastic analysis methods of metal forming mainly include principal stress method, slip line method, upper limit method, finite element method, etc. The common experimental methods include apparent plasticity method and dense grid moire method.
